Are VERUM Beauty Labs products tested on animals?

We have a cruelty-free policy. None of our products or sourced ingredients have been tested on animals. We do not test on any animals (except willing humans, of course!) and we adhere to cruelty-free practices. We only use vegetarian and vegan ingredients. 

Are the fragrances in VERUM Beauty Labs products safe?

We do not use any synthetic fragrances in our products. Our scents are 100% naturally derived and comply with the strict standards of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA). The IFRA standards are updated regularly and are based on extensive research and toxicological research.

Do VERUM Beauty Labs products contain preservatives?

Our products contain preservatives which were assessed by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel and deemed as safe to be used within specific range in cosmetic formulations. We never exceed a recommended range.

Can VERUM Beauty Labs product give me an allergic reaction?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will not have an allergic reaction. The ingredients that we use are known to be hypoallergenic, however we cannot predict how an individual’s skin will react to a specific ingredient or to a combination of ingredients. If you have an allergic reaction to a specific product, please stop using it immediately. If your skin is known to be prone to sensitivities, we recommend doing a patch test before you start using a new product. Place a small amount on the inside of your elbow and wait 48 to 72 hours. If you do not notice any redness, swelling, itching or burning on that spot, it’s OK for you to use.

Why do VERUM Beauty Labs products have different colors?

The colours of our products come from native oils and plant extracts that are full of natural colorants. For example, our Niacinamide Moisturizing Cream with Jojoba oil has a light orange colour that comes from Sea Buckthorn Oil, which has a dark orange appearance. Our Cleansing Gel with Hempseed oil has a greenish appearance due to the green shade of Grapeseed Oil. Due to our natural, small-batch formulation process, the colours of the products may vary slightly from one batch to another. This is due to variation in the colour of the ingredient due to the harvesting season and/or the region in which it was grown.

Are VERUM Beauty Labs products and packaging environmentally friendly?

Absolutely. We make a conscious effort at every step of our development process to minimize our impact on the environment. The products that we make are completely biodegradable, and wherever possible we utilize recyclable and eco-friendly packaging and shipping materials.
